Swiss esports organisation Team BDS has appointed a new CEO and plans to undergo a signfiant rebranding.

“This appointment is a unique opportunity,” said the newly-appointed CEO.

“The organisation has established itself as a central force in European esports, and I’m honoured to help write the next chapter of this journey with passion and purpose, both in sport and in society.”

In addition to a new CEO, the organisation revealed plans to open a gaming house and headquarters based in Geneva, Switzerland. The headquarters and house aim to be operational by the end of 2025.

The next chapter for the organisation also includes a rebranding, set to be revealed in the coming months. Team BDS says the rebrand will ‘better align with its current spirit and future ambitions.’

Finally, the organisation has announced the launch of a nonprofit initiative to promote gaming and esports to younger audiences within hospitals and underprivileged communities.

“Gaming has a unique power to bring people together,” added Lopez. “We want to harness that power to serve those who need it most.”

Who Is Team BDS?

Founded in 2019, Team BDS has become one of the fastest-growing esports organisations in Europe, fielding rosters across a variety of esports titles.

The organisation currently competes in Rocket League, Rainbow Six Siege and League of Legends, among others. Notably, Team BDS is part of the LEC, EMEA’s top-tier League of Legends competition, and has won accolades such as the 2024 RLCS World Championship in Rocket League and the BLAST Major Manchester 2024 in Rainbow Six.

Esports organisations and companies are no strangers to rebranding in order to reflect a new philosophy. In the past 12 months, the likes of Hero Esports, the LTA and KOI underwent rebranding to mark new chapters in their respective journeys.
